connection to the world. Our DVD authoring services include full motion menus, colour labels and inserts, DLT mastering, Dual-Layer DVDs and more. Please call for a DVD project quote. Many of our DVDs have been mass replicated and are available in retail stores including: Jann Arden… a work in progress PPD is pleased to offer closed captioning and sub-titling services in both English and French. All we need is a client-supplied text-only transcription document for each language; no time code reference is necessary as we will sync up your script to the program. Transcription services are also available; please call for a quote. If you are creating Closed Caption Files for DVD and for Windows Media Player we will supply electronic only versions. Sub-Titles appear on screen at all times and can be formatted with many different fonts. If the original video was edited at PPD and the media is available on our server or from a media back-up then the Closed Caption or Sub-Titled master will be a first generation master! To make your work easier and more cost effective, we offer a Betacam/DV Logging Station (with Avid List Exchange software) to help with your post production preparation. As you know, the better your preparation, the faster (and less expensive) the edit. You may already use Avid’s Media Log tool to manually log your tapes in advance of an edit; this speeds up digitizing considerably and gives you better control over your media clips. Using our new logging station you can now log tapes even faster. The Betacam and DVCPRO players are controlled directly by the station's computer, allowing you to mark in and out points with the click of a mouse... no more typing time codes and worrying about entering wrong numbers. At $150.00 per day, the logging station will more than pay for itself in improved productivity and efficiency during the edit. Our comfortable client lounge, equipped with DVD, VHS and a large LCD monitor, is available for client screenings. Kitchen Of course, we also have a large kitchen and dining area where you can enjoy your complimentary lunch. PPD is pleased to offer its clients high quality visual effects on DVD-ROM and CD-ROM in both 16:9 and 4:3 formats for use in your next production. The Digital Film Library is the finest royalty-free, unlimited-use stock footage library available anywhere. Once these QuickTime movies have been imported into the Avid we
can stretch them, colour tint them, blur them etc., to create a
customized background or effect for your production. Like most
of our extra services at PPD there is no additional charge for
you to use these exciting animated effects and backgrounds! Sound Effects Library PPD is pleased to offer our clients the use of our Sound Effects Library during any PPD edit session. This is a no-charge, royalty-free service which includes a computerized searchable database to help you find the perfect effect quickly and easily. Our seven collections are: The SERIES 1000 SFX audio tape library was the first sound effects library of its kind to be made available on compact disc. Its 28 CDs contain over 3,000 professional quality analog sound effects in a wide variety of categories from Airplanes to Zippers. The GENERAL SERIES 6000 contains over 7,500 digital sound effects on 60 CDs, including both new and expanded sound categories. SCI FI SERIES 8000 a 4 CD compilation from Hollywood's best science fiction sound designers, provides more than 500 sound effects and ambiences: everything from alarms, space ships and alien creatures to hatches and air locks, robotics, rockets, telemetry, weapons and Challenger space shuttle launches. THE BIG WHOOSH I and
II - includes whooshes, accents, zings, hits
and more. Music Library We are pleased to offer the complete Sound Ideas Music Library. The library includes three collections: Westar music, The Mix, Turner Music and BeatBox, totaling over 350 CDs.
